A couple of possibilities for Thomas -

1841 in Denby Dale is a Thomas Turton, shoemaker, and big family. The occupation fits with that of William but the age is a long way out - this one is 40 (ie 40 - 44).

1851 to 1871 there is a Thomas Turton, grocer, in Bradfield with wife Martha. His age has him born about 1806 and his birthplace is variously given as Penistone or Denby. The occupation would fit with that of William but there is an IGI baptism for another Denby Thomas in 1805 with parents John Turton and Elizabeth Shaw.
